“This band is an Auckland cultural institution, they are jaw droppingly good and that’s why people love them.” John Fenton, jazz journalist.

BLUE TRAIN REUNION

Reunion – revisiting the funk!

Blue Train were one of Auckland’s original jazz-funk mainstays that were popular regulars of the vibrant High St jazz scene in the 90s. In 1996 they achieved Jazz Album of The Year with No Free Lunch and went on to produce a couple more albums, Never You Mind and Fun In The World.

Their most recent reunion gig was mid-2021 but being able to perform at Tauranga in 2023 will be an exciting chance to reignite the classic Blue Train vibe!

Featuring:

  • Alan Brown – keyboards

  • Dixon Nacey – guitar
