Jump to the sounds of some of your favourite festival bands. Latin and world jazz from Radio Rebelde, Candombe-jazz from Uruguayan The Charruas, the irrepressible Miho’s Jazz Orchestra, funk it up with Lou’ana, classic swing from BOP’s own Jeremy Hantler and the Nature Boys, local blues favourites Kokomo, Wellington’s Funky Mama and so much more.   • Returning to its original format, The Strand will be closed to traffic and transformed into an open-air stage with live music, dancing, and a street party vibe, while bars and restaurants along the waterfront will extend their outdoor areas, creating the perfect spot to dine, drink, and soak up the music.

  • To ensure a safe, pedestrian-friendly festival zone, road closures will be in place from early Good Friday until late Easter Sunday. Plan ahead and enjoy the festive atmosphere!

  • The Strand (Harington Street to Devonport Road, excluding the roundabout) and Hamilton Street (Willow Street to The Strand) will be closed from 5am, Friday, 18 April – 9pm, Sunday, 20 April.

  • Free parking is available in the city centre during the weekend, including on-street parking at Dive Crescent and Council parking buildings on Elizabeth Street and Spring Street. https://www.tauranga.govt.nz/living/travel/parking/where-to-park-in-the-city
  • Secure your bike in one of Tauranga’s Bike Boxes located around the city.

  • The waterfront playground will be open as normal during the Downtown Carnival.
